Skincare Masks That I Absolutely Love
One aspect of my skincare that I never skimp on, especially when seasons shift, is my self-care masks. With each one designed for different purposes, I never hesitate to reach for the one I need for my specific skincare concerns.
Here is a list of my current favorite masks and why I love them:
renee rouleau Triple Berry smoothing Peel
I love to use Renee Rouleau’s Triple Berry Smoothing Peel twice a month (although, it is gentle enough to use once a week!) to give my skin an extra boost of renewal. With a wonderful concoction of AHA + BHA acids (like lactic, mandelic + salicylic) and extracts from your favorite berries (like blueberries, strawberries and raspberries), this resurfacing and antioxidant combo is outstanding. This is an essential staple in my skincare regime.
murad Clarifying Sulfur Mask
There are many sulfur masks out there, but, for me, Murad’s Clarifying Sulfur Mask tops the list. The magical way that it reduces inflammation makes this clarifying mask evergreen in my skincare kit. When applied as a spot treatment, it lasts throughout the night, giving maximum and effective benefits. As a face mask, it extracts impurities and purifies skin, using key ingredients like Kaolin and Bentonite. One of my favorite 2-in-1’s. Bam.
biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Mask
No matter your skin type, Vitamin C is a vital addition to your daily regime to help neutralize free radicals, brighten skin and eradicate discoloration. But, more than all of that, a concentrated, stabilized form of Vitamin C can deliver potent antioxidants to the skin, encouraging collagen production and cell regeneration. Basically, Vitamin C is clutch.
Apart from applying Vitamin C to my skin every day, I use Biossance’s Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Mask separately, once or twice a month, just for that extra punch. I love the plush transformation from a gel to a cream (illustrated above), and the infusion of rose oil helps to reveal hydrated and glowing skin every time. (If you have sensitive skin, try slowly integrating Vitamin C for best results).
renee rouleau Rapid Detox Mask
If you’re acne-prone like I am, this will be the mask of your dreams. But, even if you’re not acne-prone, this will still be the mask of your dreams. Hydrating, calming and antibacterial, Renee Rouleau’s Rapid Detox Mask is easily in my top 3. Made with cardinal ingredients like Melaleuca Leaf Oil (Tea Tree Oil) and Salicylic Acid, bacteria doesn’t stand a chance. Couple that with a good dose of Sodium Hyaluronate ( a derivative of Hyaluronic Acid and a deeply penetrating humectant) and your thirsty skin is parched no more. My favorite times for use? Before an impending blemish or after a flight. Golden.
LaneIge Sleeping Lip MAsk
I received the Laneige Sleeping Lip Mask as a sample gift last year and little did I know that I was getting my favorite sleeping lip mask to date! After finishing the sample, I quickly purchased the full-sized one shortly after. First of all, this smells like I took a bite into a berry tart (which is important for a lip mask, since it will be sitting under your nose all night). Secondly, my dry lips (especially during the Fall + Winter), cannot withstand the potency of this luxuriously, hydrating lip mask. It also comes with a lip applicator, which gives that extra pampered feel! I actually look forward to the end of my nighttime regime when I apply this (via elegant applicator), and snuggle into bed….with lips all juicy and stuff.
glow recipe avocado melt retinol sleeping eye mask
Glow Recipe’s Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Eye Mask is my latest mask addition, and guys, I’m really digging this one. Yes, yes, you know I love the little mini spoon and all, but what really got me, was the avocado, B3 and encapsulated retinol. With antioxidant-boosting Vitamin E + C (avocado), the restorative and repairing benefits of niacinamide (B3) and retinol to firm and fight free radicals, I was sold. After trying nightly for a few weeks, I also noticed a brightening result and less puffiness, as well! This had to be the bonus ingredient of coffeeberry!
A new favorite in my collection. x
