Jet-Setting? You'll Love These Shoes For Your Next Journey

Over the last 2 years or so, I’ve spent countless hours in airports; promoting ‘I Am Enough’, traveling for ‘The Gifted’ and, most recently, zipping around Ireland for the world premiere of ‘Epiphany’. With all of this coastal movement, I’ve come to fall in love with a few pairs of shoes that, I’ve found, make the absolute best shoes for travel; all comfortable, stylish and practically go with everything! Here’s my list:

Vince Blair 5 Slip-On SneakeRS

These became my first intentional pair of travel shoes. I loved that they came in neutral colors (white, black and beige) and were supremely comfortable. Easy to slip on with all-day wear, I’ve had this particular pair now for 2 years and they have stood the test of time along with many, many hours of airport walking.

Adidas Superstars

The OG’s. Here’s the thing about the original adidas superstars; they’re affordable, classic and they forever stay comfy. An easy go-to pair for any outfit. They have a way of elevating any ensemble, but in a down-to-earth kind of way, which I dig. (I also love that the new version has a touch of gold on the tongue and sides!).

Anine Bing Charlie Boots

It’s now Fall. And you’re probably looking to update your Chelsea boots. And you’re needing them to be comfortable, with a slight heel. But preferably with, also, a little personality - heck, let’s even call it ‘edge’. In an ideal world, they would be fashion-forward and would go seamlessly with your favorite pair of jeans as you strut down the street (or run wildly through the airport’s halls).

And…these are them. (You’re welcome).

Nike Epic React Flyknit 2 Sneakers

I purchased these this past summer before flying to Ireland, because I wanted a walking shoe that could also double as a workout shoe. Well, not only did these weather the Irish storms, the gym and daily hour-long walks, but they literally feel like second-skin.  The shoes are knitted, even along the ankle, so there’s no harsh rubbing and the support is out of this world. Toss in the fact that they come in all-black with the dark gray bottom = my new sneaker crush.

Golden Goose White + Gold Superstar Sneakers

A couple of years ago, I walked in for a fitting with my stylist, Adena Rohatiner, and she was wearing a pair of scuffed shoes that, honestly, just looked dirty. She raved about how comfortable they were and highly suggested for me to pick up a pair. Naturally, I forgot about it. I came back a few weeks later and her styling assistant, Julie, was now also wearing a pair with a surrendered look on her face. Et tu, Jules?!

Earlier this year, I finally went to go see what the fuss was all about. I tried them on:

Ok…not bad…a little stiff, but….supremely stylish. Ok. I’ll try them.

The result? It does takes a few wears to break them in comfortably, but when. you. do. You’ll wear them everywhere, but to sleep. And even then, I wouldn’t put it past you. Plus, the main benefit of pre-scuffed shoes? No need to nitpick if you add to the scuffs - you won’t even be able to tell! (P.S. This color? A dream. My new favorite neutral). Check out the well-earned creases from how often I’ve worn them this year:
